Every Nation Ministries (ENM) has extended timely support to educators through its outreach arm, Victory Biz, as it sponsored a team building conference for faculty members of the University of Makati (UMAK, formerly Pamantasan ng Makati) last May 17 and 18 at the Every Nation Building in Bonifacio Global City.

It all started with Victory Biz’s Jerome Gutierrez offering ENM’s services to his former Asian Institute of Management (AIM) college professor and current President of UMAK, Mr. Tommy Lopez. He was then referred to the Dean of the UMAK College of Business Administration, Mr. Elyxzur Ramos, who gave the go-signal to start the initiative benefiting professors and instructors teaching thousands of students in their campus.

The two-day seminar saw participating UMAK faculty staff getting excited over learning discoveries on a host of topics ranging from extensive discussion on vision casting, to rudimentary talks on teamwork. Teachers were given pointers on developing leadership skills and broadening their understanding on the purposes of their professional career as teachers.

Faculty members of the said college were very enthused about the seminar. So positive was the response that most attendees were very eager to apply everything they learned to help change the students lives.

The impact of this seminar and previous services offered by Every Nation was so valuable to UMAK that a partnership was forged. In fact, the college launched two main features of this partnership: First, the UMAK College of Business Administration has given Every Nation the task of teaching foundations class on Personality Development and Public Relations (PDPR). Secondly, Every Nation was asked to put up a multi-function student center within the college grounds to service the needs of students.

Victory Biz saw the need to help another institution and without hesitation it poured out available resources to provide UMAK College of Business Administration the help it desires to upgrade its teaching capabilities to serve the students better.

On the eve of the EN.07 Manila World Conference, Victory Biz invited business professionals and executives at the Every Nation Building, Taguig City to attend a sit-down dinner affair and hear Pastor Jim Laffoon’s timely message of encouragement for the business community.

Entitled, “An Evening with Jim Laffoon,” the attendees lined up and registered with business associates and friends who came to know how this event greatly contributes to the development of their respective businesses. After registration, the main auditorium quickly filled to capacity with more registrants filing in to attend the affair. Despite the situation, people were able to find seating inside the already crowded hall. Visiting foreign delegates attending the world conference also attended the evening’s event joining local businessmen to hear the speaker who leads the US-based organization, Bethel World Outreach Center and author of the popular devotions book, Our Daily Blog. Counting it as an honor to speak in front of business executives, Pastor Jim Laffoon immediately pointed to the promises of the scriptures where any man (or woman) can find peace, joy and life. The message was a reminder to every businessperson seeking true relief from the usually tension-filled, stressful, often-tiring routine of life.

As the evening drew to a close, the message soaked well in the hearts of the attendees. It became one of many memorable times to the recently concluded EN.07 Manila World Conference.

Building a successful company requires more than just acquiring technology and working hard, it requires that we learn to walk in relationship with others.

In 1920, Adolph and Rudolf Dassler, brothers, began manufacturing sports shoes in Herzogenaurach, Germany. Their company could have gone on to become a dominant force in athletic shoes and control the billion-dollar market. Their story could have become a testament of a successful, large-scale family business.

Unfortunately, the brothers did not succeed in working together. After a falling out, Adolph (also known as “Adi) founded Adidas and Rudolf built Puma. The feud was so bitter that the Dassler brothers were buried at opposite sides of town.

Today, both brands are fierce competitors, each with its own strengths and weaknesses.

Genesis 11:6 tells us of the power we can have if we learn to walk in unity with one another:

The LORD said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.” Although Adidas and Puma were industry pioneers, Nike leads the athletic shoe industry today. Adidas and Puma trail behind.

We can only imagine what these two brothers could have come up with if they had just learned to walk together as “one people” who can communicate properly (speak the same language) and work together. The Bible says, “nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.”
